The Obama Healthcare Boondoggle - Obamacare
Lacking details, the Obama Healthcare proposal will eventually increase federal spending. Historically they have mismanaged Medicare and Medicaid and killed Social Security. Government healthcare has failed miserably in other countries and will strip the people of their choices. The proposal includes new regulations and government authority that would leave Americans with even less control of their health care dollars than they what they have today. Keep control in the hands of the consumer. Create and enforce tough regulations upon the insurance carriers. There is no such thing as a "Big Bang" solve all. Estimated costs for the plan are in the range of $239 billon dollars over the next ten years. This plan is not deficit neutral and another disater in the making.

There will never be Government plan that has been defecit nuetral. Although I think there should be some regulation on the health care industry and some TORT reform. There is a tea party in the Broadway Mall South Parking lot July 30th . Come a support opposition to this and other fiscal spending.

Why has there been no mention of stricter guidelines for private health insurance companies or regulation on frivolous malpractice suits? The #1 reason healthcare costs are as high as they are is in large part due to the outrageous insurance premiums doctors must pay for malpractice insurance! These major insurance companies are worse than the Wall St. companies in terms of bilking the public when it comes to healthcare and making a profit. Instead of creating a government run plan that will essentially put all of the private companies out of business, force rationing of care, reduce the salaries of doctors and increase wait time ... why not pass legislation that will require these private firms to insure people with pre-existing conditions? If .gov is so hellbent on capping executive salaries, how about capping the hourly rate lawyers can charge when they bring frivolous lawsuits against doctors that end up being dismissed? How about a cap on malpractice settlement, say $20 million? Bring down the cost of getting a medical degree so we can have a new crop of doctors entering the workforce - without requiring them to "serve" 10 years in AmeriCorps!
The invisible 50 million uninsured BHO keeps referring to include people who of their own free will have opted NOT to purchase insurance, people who qualify but are too stupid to file for Medicaid, along with 10 million illegal immigrants. Nowhere in our Constitution is "universal healthcare" guaranteed to Americans. Look how well .gov has managed Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Fannie and Freddie. Do you really want the same .gov officials to have YOUR personal medical records in a data bank in D.C.? The Liberals screamed and carried on about their "loss of privacy" under the Patriot Act, but when it comes to this - they shrug. It doesn't bother them in the least.
This bill must die the same way Hillarycare died.
What happened to McCain's idea for a $5,000 tax credit to help offset the cost of insurance? Obama wants to institute an 8% payroll tax on employers who actually provide workers with health insurance - does that make ANY sense?
BHO is determined to destroy Main Street, punish the wealthy and move this country to dependence on One World Government. Just think about the whole "swine flu" pandemic distraction manufactured by WHO. BHO is a master prestidigitator, but people are starting to see the man behind the curtain. Even his teleprompter had the good sense to commit suicide.

If You Are Against
· Rationed Medical care….
· Limiting your freedom to choose your own medical doctor and make personal medical decisions….
· Government making your health care decisions regarding procedures, treatments & hospital needs….
· Limited disbursement of drugs, especially CANCER & HIV drugs….
· Limited or NO radiation therapy….
· Long waits for MRI and Cat scans…..
· 6 to 9 months wait time for surgery (what happens to a tumor during that time?)….
· Government deciding if you live or die, especially if you are a senior citizen
If You Are For
· Your Individual Rights
· More Doctors and More Nurses
· Encouraging drug companies to pursue new pharmaceuticals
· Encouraging medical products companies to pursue new equipment
· Encouraging entrepreneurs to develop new delivery systems & wellness programs
· Encouraging doctors to stay in this industry & actually practice their love of science and medicine as opposed to being a bureaucrat in a white suit.
Government has already proven it cannot manage health care programs - i.e. Medicare and VA. Why should we expand their responsibility?

Why not concentrate on being healthy. Stop eating comfort food, get more exercise, keep a balanced life and work on stress control. Stay away from sugar, throw away your salt shaker, cigarettes, drink plenty of water and everytime you hear your voice raise, Stop. I guarantee you will feel, look and act better. The medical profession is a very lucrative business and is making big profits mainly due to our own hand. Being ever vigilant with your own health by a healthy all around way of life will help stop feeding the dragon.

Patricia,
That's very good advice but it doesn't help much if you are diagnosed with cancer or Parkinsons or a host of any other life-threatening diseases. The Dems like your thinking though and have included at least $10 Billion in the bill for playgrounds and sidewalks to encourage people to be more active!

I agree with Patricia, we all know what's healthy for us to eat, it all makes sense to me. Has anyone heard of Safeway Stores out east they have a great incentive for their employees which I think is great. They have yearly physicals with blood work ,and if they get a clean bill of health, they get a reduction in their employee contribution towards their medical care, so if hey don't smoke they get a $400.00 reduction in insurance costs that's just an example. They encourage employees to stay healthy, go to the gym, eat right and take care of themselves, I think it's a great idea I wish my husband's company offered it. Get incentive for doing the right thing. Of course if you unfortunately get something uncontrollable they have wonderful insurance because they reduce costs in other areas. That's the plan Obama should put out there. Think about it, wouldn't you rather pay less for insurance and look and feel better?? I know I would and I can honestly say that changing your eating habits and more excerise can change your health. It's a brainless solution!!!!

Bayville Resident,
Unfortunately, Obama and the Dems in Congress have come up with a "brainless" solution to the health insurance problem and it fails to address many of the medical costs, legal problems and treatment issues I addressed in my opening post.

What's wrong with affordable housing? Have you noticed the younger generation leaving Long Island? It's because they can't afford the over half million needed to buy house here. Used to be that middle class wages could buy a house around here. Not anymore. Why? Because some of those earning a middle class wage are not white perhaps? Never mind the mass exodus of Long Island's youth due to the inability to buy a house here. So long as communities can keep "those" people out.
Well good luck. Now they're renting the numerous illegal apartments to help pay the mortgages on the houses that people couldn't really afford. Happy with the fact they aren't paying property tax, or would you rather give them a chance to buy? Don't tell me it's got nothing to do with color. I grew up here. While my family owns two houses here, I'm not white, and believe me I've paid for it in your high school. Those kids had to learn that hate from somewhere.

Not amused,
Affordable housing, regardless of ethnicity is one thing and something desireable. Affordable housing ONLY for minorities is quite another. Yeah, it stinks that my newly married son can't afford to buy a house yet in Bayville, where he grew up. But guess what? He's white. So mandating minority low-income housing in Bayville where I've paid taxes and a mortgage for 30 years isn't going to help him if what happened in Westchester happens here, now is it? It certainly isn't going to help Bayville property values.
I won't tell you it has nothing to do with color. It has EVERYTHING to do with color and a government providing PREFERENTIAL treatment to minorities at the expense of whites. There are plenty of fair housing laws in place that insure that a minority who is fiscally qualified to purchase a home in Bayville at Bayville's current prices cannot be discriminated against. As a Realtor, I've had Bayville homeowners ask that their homes not be shown to Asian families! Outrageous! Of course this sort of ethnic discrimination cannot be tolerated. But that doesn't mean that residents of ANY Village should have to sacrifice the equity in their homes so that minorities can purchase a home for less than their own white children can!
I'm sorry for any hateful experiences you had in LVCSD. There are a lot of elitist snobs around here. I guess you didn't wear the right designer labels.
Reply to this
When prices go up specifically to out price minorities, some action needs to take place to balance it out. Long Island is one of the most segregated areas of the country, and there are reasons for it, and those reasons can be found at LVSCD on up. These kids learn hate from their parents, and those parents run things.
I'm half Asian, colored enough to have that hate pointed at me, yet white enough to "pass" sometimes. I heard things many of my non white friends wouldn't hear because of this pass.
Yes it sucks that affordable housing is targeted at minorities, but when generation after generation just continue to breed that hate, what else can be done? I love it here. I love that my kid can ride his bike up and down the street, but I dread when he really starts to get to know people here. He's half Jamaican, and he'll face things even I never had to face. Do you know of another way to level a playing field like that?

On a lighter note....
A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."
The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You're approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2,346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude.
"She rolled her eyes and said, "You must be a Republican."
"I am," replied the man. "How did you know?"
"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct. But I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me."
The man smiled and responded, "You must be an Obama Democrat."
"I am," replied the balloonist. "How did you know?"
"Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are or where you are going. You made a promise you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but somehow, now it's my fault."

Where is it written in our Constitution that American citizens should be guaranteed "equitable distribution of wealth"?
No one is "entitled". You have been given the right to "life, liberty and pursuit of happiness". Take away MY rights to "level the playing field" and you're going to have a revolution on your hands, my friend.
I was raised by Jewish parents, but many people here didn't know that, especially based on my last name. You think there is only hatred and prejudice against blacks, or Asians or Hispanics around here? I heard many an anti-Semitic remarks ushered by some LV ladies with their perfectly prissy pearls.
But don't worry. LVHS is an IB World School. All future students will be peace-loving, tolerant, global citizens......bwahahahaha!

No where in the constitution does it state you have a right to live only with those who look like you. Also, why should diversity lower home values? I'm not talking about equitable distribution of wealth, I'm talking about a right to live in a safe place. I'm not talking about handing housing to those who don't work, but those that do. While I believe affordable housing should benefit everyone, no matter the color of skin, something needs to be done about the realtors who DO listen to the people who tell them not to show their house to an Asian family. It's commendable that you are not one of them, but there's no denying there are plenty of them on Long Island.

Dirty secret No. 1 in Obamacare is about the government's coming into homes and usurping parental rights over child care and development.
It's outlined in sections 440 and 1904 of the House bill (Page 838), under the heading "home visitation programs for families with young children and families expecting children." The programs (provided via grants to states) would educate parents on child behavior and parenting skills.
The bill says that the government agents, "well-trained and competent staff," would "provide parents with knowledge of age-appropriate child development in cognitive, language, social, emotional, and motor domains ... modeling, consulting, and coaching on parenting practices," and "skills to interact with their child to enhance age-appropriate development."

Not amused, if you do not like that Bayville is 99.9% white then go live in Hempstead or Uniondale. This is Bayville, if a Black, spanish, chinese or a Japanese family wanted to move here they could. No one is holding them back. I'm a young married with children white male, I work hard in order to live in a safe area, I would be considered rich if I lived somewhere else but I choose to live in Bayville. I have lived in Bayville my whole life and when you make generalized statements about the entire village you sound like a complete ass. Personally I do not want low or affordable housing in Bayville, if you can not afford to live here go live somewhere else, its that simple. Sometimes we can not get what we want,

The percentage of white is not what bothers me. It's the attitude that comes with it. The kind of attitude that thinks it's acceptable to call my 4 year old godson a ch*** in the middle of town. I know most of the town isn't like that, nor am I trying to accuse everyone of it. Still, to sit back and watch it, to pretend it isn't there is enabling it.
I work hard to live here as well. My family owns two houses here. My household income is above 6 figures. I believe in education and a hard days work. Just like you, I desire and deserve a safe place to live. Unlike you, I can't walk down a street with my son without some sort of stare. Unlike you, I need to worry about how my son will be treated at school. I should not have to live in an unsafe area like Hempstead just to assure myself that my son won't be called a n***** simply for being there. I work hard to be here, and I deserve as much as you do.
Affordable housing throughout Long Island is a dire need, not only for the less fortunate, but for young families like ours. When businesses don't have a pool of young, talented workers to choose from, they take their business elsewhere. Long Island is experiencing a brain drain, where even the college educated young can't afford to buy a house. If they continue to move out of state, they'll take the business with them. This isn't good for anyone.
Long Island on a whole is becoming two classes. The wealthy and the poor. The middle class are finding harder and harder to start out here, and they're being pushed out. I can't see anything good in having two chooses here. Either live in a crime ridden area, or make 6 figures and live in a safe one. Where's the middle ground anymore? Is it so very important to keep our community 99.9% white that we're willing to do away with the middle class?

Our household doesn't make 6 figures and we consider ourselves middle class, we're not getting pushed out, have no plans to relocate and are very happy here in Bayville. And we live within our means. You sound racist and classist (sp?) to me. I am white, a Bayvillian, middleclass, and have nothing against well-managed affordable housing - as long as it does not require changes in zoning. I'm sorry that happened to your son, it is terrible, but I have been called names to, and it's a shame there are people out there you think it ok, but please don't say there's an "attitude" that comes with being white, it lessens the strength of your statement.

Dear Not Amused,
There are some very ignorant people in this town and if I EVER heard a remark like that directed at your 4 year old godson in public, I'd probably punch the a-hole out. Hopefully, you would bail me out.
Back to the Constitution - because whether it is healthcare, housing, education, anything, this President is shredding our Constitution faster than a crackhead can smoke an eightball. He is all about "redistribution of wealth". He wants to redistribute healthcare, education, housing... everything.
>>>>>>>>>>>Also, why should diversity lower home values? I'm not talking about equitable distribution of wealth, I'm talking about a right to live in a safe place.>>>>>>>>>>>>
Home values are determined by two things:
1. Market value - what someone is willing to pay for a home
2. Appraised value - how much the house can be financed for
Back to low-income, minority housing. Let's say .gov/ACORN comes in and demands that 40 - 4 BR/2 1/2 BTH houses be built in the Harrison Williams Woods and that they cost no more than $125,000 a piece. After the units are built and sold, a 4 BR, 2 1/2 BTH home in Cat Hollow comes on the market. Those homes USED to be worth between $750-900,000. Even if a buyer could be found in that price range, unless they have ALL CASH, I guarantee you there isn't a lender in the world that is going to write a $600,000 mortgage when a similar, newer home was sold down the street for $125,000.
Back to healthcare - Our lying, arrogant winking Chicago thug POTUS stood before his phony town hall in NH yesterday and declared that AARP backed the HR-3200. AARP has NOT endorsed the bill!
Nixon had the decency to resign after Watergate, which pales in comparison to what B. Hussein Obama is doing to our country. Obama should RESIGN NOW!!!

Middleclass,
I'm racist for being angry about racist things thrown my way? What should my reaction be to these things? Please, tell me how I should feel when a grown adult calls a 4 year old a chink in broad daylight, in the middle of town, and no one blinks an eye. As for classist, I only stated my household income so the poster above didn't confuse me for one of the people he felt didn't deserve to live here. He felt it necessary to point out he'd be rich anywhere else, and implied that if you weren't, you shouldn't be here. Perhaps the classist remark should be reserved for him.
Lisa -
I would bail you out, but if you were there instead of the person who stopped me, we'd be cell mates. And thank you for explaining Appraised value. That was something I wasn't considering. I was focused more on market value - the price someone would be willing to pay, which I hope wouldn't go down just because an affordable house was built.
As for health care - I think the only thing Obama has said that was right was that something had to be done. From that point on...

In less than 7 months, Obama has created an Oligarchy. Congressmen and Senators are in hiding, refusing to meet with their constituents. ave you seen Ackerman? Schumer? Gillibrand?
Come 2010, every single one of these spineless bums who voted for the stimulus should be voted OUT. The one thing I agree with, this grassroots uprising is not just about healthcare reform. It's about a completely inept government that can't even run cash for clunkers and refuses to abide by the Constitution. Health care is an issue we can all directly relate to, so the storm surrounding its reform is understandable. In addition, President Obama has not gone about selling this plan correctly, nor has he stood strong as a reformer when he should have. However, I see the country sparking a mis-informed and planned hysteria perpetrated by the very insurance companies are the root of the problem. Have you ever stopped to consider the other side? What motivations insurance companies and their lobbyists would have in spreading half-truths? What a grand chance conservatives, not recently used to losing public opinion so soundly, see this vulnerability as? The insurance companies want you having your tea-parties as it will only keep the status quo. The conservatives want your irate blogging, it will help get rid of a blemish on their record in a little more then 3 years.
If you do even the slightest bit of research, you will see there will be no death panels, no cut of aid to the elderly, and no socialized medicine. Yet people are screaming about these things, distracted from the fact that this is an opportunity for making the system better. There needs to be changes in the exact area of the medical field that Lisa outlined in her first or second post. Regulation of insurance companies or a public OPTION as competition will make the system better. But no one is talking about that, they only want to make jokes about toilet bowls on our president's head.

Gee, thanks. SO WHY AREN'T THE DEMS LISTENING? Instead of whining about our manners, LISTEN! COMPROMISE! KILL THE BILL and go back to square one and re-write it.
I agree most insurance companies suck and premiums are out of control. But they suck because lawyers keep filing frivolous malpractice suits and doctors have to pay outrageous malpractice insurance premiums! They suck because those private insurance companies end up supplementing hospitals and doctors for what Medicare and Medicaid refuse to reimburse! Now you want those private companies to supplement what the government doesn't pay for EVERYONE? That's insanity! Private insurance premiums will go even higher, eventually forcing them all out of business because no one will be able to afford them. Left with only .gov to reimburse doctors and hospitals, you will find a mass exodus of professionals from the healthcare industry, FORCING rationing and QOL determinations. How can anyone in their right mind TRUST .gov to IMPROVE healthcare when it can't efficiently run the government programs it already has in place??
BHO is no leader. He is playing hopscotch with every single major policy issue. As soon as the WH makes another daily faux pas (thank you Robert Gibbs), it's an exercise in distraction. Ouigers in Bermuda, Clinton to N. In fact, John Maynard Keynes long ago laid out a road map for political survival amid an economic disaster of just this sort: “By a continuing process of inflation, governments can confiscate, secretly and unobserved, an important part of the wealth of their citizens.... The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose.”
"We don’t want our country to evolve into the banana-republic economy described by Keynes." ~Warren Buffet
That's right. We don't. How long do you think it will take the Left to call anyone who uses the phrase "Banana-Republic" a racist?

There is nothing wrong with our Health System EXCEPT the insurance companies and Lawyers regulating care AND illegal aliens
This country has the BEST health care system
Private and Government run
You don't have insurance...get medicaid
Every state has a state run plan for low income families and individuals
Medicaid has better coverage than some or most private companies do AND the medicaid individual does not have to go to a clinic...they can go to a private doctor

don't forget the lawsuits that cause doctor to perform unnecessary tests. we have a great country! join the march on dc and be heard!

A friend, a professional, was laid off from a job and went on unemployment. Much to her surprise, she was ineligible for Medicaid. Had she been an unwed teenager with a child she would have been eligible. New York State Medicaid is not for the average person. That is why so many young adults are registering to take courses at Nassau or Suffolk community college. for is a minimum number of credits, they can get the medical insurance offered to students.

New York State has an insurance plan for her.

The NY plan is called Healthy NY, just google it. I am switching to it, my premium went up 34% last year with no changes and that's with a $2000. deduct.
Reply to this
If you go to page 6 of the Healthy NY on line booklet, you'll see that the monthly income caps are very low. The average family earns too much to participate in the plan. While there are folks out there who are eligible, this plan is not really viable for the typical family.

I would like credit please - for identifying what Obama is "creating", 10 full days before Glenn Beck did, right here on the Bayville blog.

Women in the UK are giving birth in the hallways, corridors, bathrooms and parking lots of hospitals. The overcrowding problem exists there and in Canada. Get ready because we're next. As much as a hated Palin, I think I'm actually regretting not voting for her.

Sometimes simple people stick to their beliefs and principles. With that, all else becomes rhetoric. And Palin is simple and smart. She's around

Patriot,
Since the election, I have found that the people who hated Palin the most fell into two categories: animal rights activists and abortion lovers. To me, she is an amazing, amazing, woman and what the media put her and her family through was despicable. McCain wasn't the best candidate in the world, but he was a heck of a lot better than what the American people elected.
I do believe I heard 4,000 women weren't able to be admitted to maternity wards in the UK last year.

Of COURSE we can blame the lawyers! 68% of Congress are lawyers which is why they won't go after tort reform! And of course, your esteemed President and the lovely FLOTUS are also lawyers! Blame away! I'm with ya!

It's very sad that I found this page while running a search on Google for the town in which I was raised. Whether health care, tort reform, or the budget, the comments on this post lack factual support. Moreover, to publicly voice support for a bigot like Glenn Beck, is simply pathetic. I'm not surprised, however, that people who are insulated from the world would hold such empty positions.

Glenn Beck is not a bigot. Our positions are based on FACTS, not the lies and rhetoric espoused by these radical traitors who are holding our government captive and to whom you pray. WAKE UP!
You want factual support? Remember all the way back during the campaign how Obama stomped for CLEAN COAL TECHNOLOGY? He even had advertisements paid for by a group working for this solution. Yet Green Czar Van Jones calls CLEAN COAL TECHNOLOGY - "Ludicrous, fantastical...if you believe in that you believe in the tooth fairy!" Oh, just in case you think I'm hallucinating these events, I'll provide you with the youtube videos -

Single payer all the way. To leave health care as For Profit is crazy. Insurance companies will never look to hold costs down, only to maximise profit. How are things working out now with the "free market" driving prices down? As far as "Death Panels" best to leave things to the benevolent purview of insurance company review panels, as everyone knows they NEVER deny treatment to save a life.

I happen to like John Stossel. Wanna know what I got out of that article? BELGIUM DOESN'T HAVE A TEACHER'S UNION LIKE THE NEA or AFT!
It has nothing to do with IB and IB won't overcome the inability of many public schools to get rid of incompetent tenured teachers. IB is a UN scam that justs places an international layer of bureaucracy on top of the State and union bureaucracies and the end result is an expensive chokehold on the educational process overall.
Furthermore, if you consider the geographic size and heterogeneous population of Belgium, it isn't really a very fair comparison, now is it? I don't think Belgium has a huge influx of illegal immigrants to educate.
Yes I can blame LVCSD. My kids went through 8 Principals in 10 years. Improve what works, don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. LVCSD used to average 35-36 AP scholars per year in the 90's. Last year? ZERO!! Disgraceful.

Your citation to clean coal technology in response to my comment is about as relevant as your blog.

Change.
Via: USA Today:
Internal Revenue Service agents already try to catch tax cheats and moonshiners. Under the proposed health care legislation, they would get another assignment: checking to see whether Americans have health insurance.
The legislation would require most Americans to have health insurance and to prove it on their federal tax returns. Those who don’t would pay a penalty to the IRS.
That’s one of several key duties the IRS would assume under the bills that have been approved by the House of Representatives and Senate and will be merged by negotiators from both chambers.
The agency also would distribute as much as $140 billion a year in new government subsidies to help small employers and as many as 19 million lower-income people.
Wow. I'm speechless. This plan is already in place in Massachusetts and is coming to a theater near you. Say goodbye to your freedoms people. Life as we Americans know it....is officially OVER!!!!!!!!!

The bill has not yet passed. DO NOT GIVE UP!! FORGET HOPE AND CHANGE! FIGHT FOR RESTORATION AND REDEMPTION!
We must take back our country in 2010! We cannot let the disciples of Saul Alinsky and Cloward and Piven destroy the U.S.A. - they are WRONG - and America is worth fighting for. Our Constitution is worth fighting for. Our children and grandchildren are worth fighting for. Deny us further and there will be civil war in this country. Instead of North vs. South, it will be Right vs. Left. They will not listen and we will not surrender!

What: Help Google & Your MD's STOP ObamaCare
Dear Freedom Fighters,
A friend of mine has started a website to try and stop Obamacare on a different front.
{THE SITE IS NOW LIVE. I'm asking for help to spread the word hoping there's enough warriors out there to join the battle. January 6th}
If you value access to quality health care and recognize the threat hanging over us then it's time to take ACTION. I need your help and I need it now.
Candidate Obama confirmed his intention to implement a government takeover of health care when he proclaimed that health care is a 'right'. There have been many excellent articles written by knowledgeable authors based on the philosophy of Objectivism and the nature of 'The Rights Of Man'. It is obvious to all rational people that passage of the pending health care legislation will result in what Leonard Peikoff long ago called 'Medicine - The Death of a Profession'. To combat this looming disaster I created a very simple website that will give voice to the forgotten man of medicine, the doctor. This website will be a survey with the following questions:
• Is HealthCare a right?
o Yes or No
• If there is a government takeover of HealthCare will you continue working as a medical professional?
o Yes or No
• If there is a government takeover of Healthcare, and you continue to work in the medical profession, will you change your practice or employment such as switching to cash only compensation, concierge practice, or other significant change?
o Yes or No
• Do you currently accept Medicare/Medicaid patients?
o Yes or No
• Will you to accept Medicare/Medicaid patients in the future?
o Yes or No
• If there is a government takeover of HealthCare will you encourage young people to enter the medical profession?
o Yes or No
• Is current government intervention in HealthCare having an impact on the quality and/or level of care you can provide to patients?
o Positive or Negative
The results of each question will be displayed on a Google map and statistics will be compiled. Only doctors will be permitted to answer the survey. The goal is nothing less than having every doctor in the USA log on and vote. The country must SEE what they can expect in the future if government runs health care. Not just the abstract text of some poll but to see in real-time how the doctors are responding. The success of this endeavor will depend on how fast this can go viral. To be effective there must be overwhelming participation by doctors. I'm asking you to take action and do it immediately. Start thinking of how you can spread the word with the goal of making every doctor in America aware of the survey. If there was ever an appropriate demonstration of the expression 'IT'S GOING VIRAL' this is it! We MUST do this BEFORE the tyrants in Washington DC can send a bill to Obama for signature. Put your list together and get ready!

You ought to knock off that "Civil War" crap McLaughlin. It's ignorant, self indulgent,an insult to America and an insult to anyone who's really risked anything to make it the great country it is. Are you cribbing out of Jim Rawles' extremist-porn "Patriots", or do you have your own plan to man a barricade on the Bayville Bridge wearing a lobster pot for body armour? You won't have to, I'm just gonna keep the bridge up to save the rest of Nassau County from you.
Reply to this
A civil war is not necessarily a military conflict. Peaceful protests, marches, demonstrations and town hall meetings can all be part of appropriate civil unrest.
Citizens who love America are frustrated with a government more concerned with the rights of terrorists than protecting its citizens; representatives and senators conducting clandestine and covert meetings to draft legislation; and a federal government intent on changing the principals of the free market, on which this nation was born and achieved greatness, into a socialized nanny state.
Well, Mr. or Ms. Bridge Mechanic, I risked much, as did many others I know, to help make this country great and I appreciate those who speak out to help keep it great.
Reply to this
Thank you Army. I believe we can reclaim our liberty and freedoms peacefully, through our freedom of speech, demonstrations, and by voting to take back our country in 2010.
p.s. to bridge mechanic -
I hate to break it to you, (I know there is such a sense of omnipotence in being able to control a drawbridge), but there's another way in and out of Bayville.
