We have a question pertaining to the Community Center in Bayville - why is it closed off at this time to Bayville Residents? That can be used for people to park their vehicles who have to evacuate and get them away from the water so their will be less damage? We are a community that should pull together in times like this and open up as many possiblites as we can to help others. I don't understand the meaning behind blocking off the community center.

I am sure its blocked because the county ambulances are usually there and need to have a way in and out for emergency purposes. Also, its not a very big lot so even if the ambulances were not there there would not be enough parking for all of the residents in low areas to park their cars.

How are things going down on the numbered streets? I live on the creek now so I'm concerned about everyone down there. I can't reach anyone. Maybe they've evacuated. Stay safe everyone. xo

Live on 8th street
Power and Internet still on
Small branches everywhere , otherwise a tempest in a teacup
Hilarious to listen to the news for news sake

Can anyone please report on the numbered streets? Around 4th street in particular? Any flooding? We heeded the mandatory evacuation - not sure if we should try to come back yet? Hope everyone's safe. Thanks

Hurricane Irene took out a huge old tree right next to that old Church next to Merritt Lane. The tree fell on a car going by on Bayville Avenue and crushed the roof of the car in. The driver had severe head injuries and had to be air-lifted to N.U.M.C. I was wondering if he survived his injuries. Does anyone know ?
